Chris coached me through some changes at work in a kind and compassionate way. His high level of empathy and skill in listening quickly provided an environment where I could not only be myself but be prepared to go deep or as Chris would say “peel back the layers of the onion”! At no time did I feel judged but Chris’s skills in asking curious and challenging questions helped me to get to the nub of the issue and take next best step forward

I wasn’t initially sure about the value of coaching and normally feel uncomfortable discussing self-analysis with other. However, Chris quickly enabled me to move into a space of curiosity and vulnerability which opened possibilities to look at things differently and less critically of myself. Chris’ questions were insightful and helped me unpeel how I was approaching things and how I perceived others judged me. As a result of coaching, I recognised how my perceived barriers and insecurities about not belonging surfaced. Chris helped me progressing towards some clear goals through which I am kinder and less judgemental to myself and feel more comfortable about what I contribute, who I am and to be more settled in my work and other environments.

I accessed Chris as a coach via the NHS Aspiring Executive programme. From the very first encounter, Chris created an environment in which I could be myself, accepting and listening to me without judgement. Chris' ability to be inclusive allowed me to be my authentic self and view my uniqueness in a very positive way. He challenged and stretched my thinking and feelings in a supportive way, often helping me to see more clearly those habits or beliefs that were not serving me well. His positive and kind approach helped me address some hard truths. This contributed not only to achieving my coaching goals but has left me with a clear view of where I am going and a renewed passion to drive me there. He was also skilled in helping me understand my top 5 Clifton Strengths and how I give myself permission to celebrate them.

I had a very positive experience working with Chris during a period of significant transition and professional challenge. He created a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space and was supportive throughout – with thoughtful communication between sessions. The coaching sessions were supportive and stretching – and helped me gain clarity and confidence at a team when I needed it. Having experienced a range of different coaches over the years, Chris’ kindness really stood out for me.

I wish we could have held onto Chris as we embark on our NHS careers. He has enabled me to learn so much about myself and it has really impacted my approach to leading - i consider myself so lucky to have been in an action learning set facilitated by Chris, such an inspiration - thank you!

Of all the amazing experiences on the GMTS, the action learning set facilitated by Chris stood out as most impactful. He held the space in which I grew significantly in my emotional intelligence. At the start I simply wanted to fix issues that the team brought in their air time.
